Hydrotherapy Treatment Center | New York City, NY | Fall 2015

In creating a hydrotherapy treatment center and spa, we created space of escape and program variation while also capitalizing energy efficiency. Organizing the diverse set of programs and room types into a matrix of wet vs. dry and relative size, showed three distinct types: wet large open space, dry medium flexible space, and dry small compartmentalized space. Then organizing the program in section to interact vertically, created both a programmatic and spatial mix. To create energy efficiency, mixing of program types, and an accelerated solar chimney, the program was organized from cold to hot, both for the wet and dry programs.
